This homestay is a very new addition to the city's hospitality industry. It has opened during end of October 2011 and since then hosted many national and international groups. This homestay is the brainchild of Mr.Rajeev and Mrs.Simi Sethi. The Sethi's also have a hotel nearby and thus have experience in the business. The homestay is primarily Simi's responsibility and she enjoys taking care of her guests immensely. She runs the kitchen and maintains the house with aplomb. Rajeev is multilingual, an avid traveller, and enjoys meeting new people. Opening the homestay was almost a spiritual calling for them as they wanted to be part of serving people and taking care of guests. Traveling has helped Rajeev understand the cultures better. He cares for the specific needs of budget travelers, small families and big groups, and hence can look after them better. Rajeev's 37 year experience in the business is a huge asset for international tourists. He's proud to say that he provides honest and experienced advise and doesn't look at the bottom-line.
Upon entering the home a gurgling waterfall welcomes people on the left. Wicker furniture sits under the shade of a small tree and this is the first common area of the homestay. In the ground floor is a huge living room with carved woodwork on the walls and bright furniture. The home has 5 large guest bedrooms, the most inviting trait of their rooms is their size and that all of them open into a large sunny eating area. The rooms are almost identical except their sizes. They have consciously been given all white interiors to counter the city's summery weather. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, AC, plasma TV, dressers, cupboards. Bathrooms are tiled, clean and well maintained and are of a good size. Also to access the rooms there are two entrances available.
Taj Mahal is just 1.5 kms away, Agra Cantonment railway Station is 4 kms away. Rajeev organizes travel assistance for guests and vehicles on request. Special arrangements for groups can be done if required. Simi loves providing cooking lessons to guests and Yoga sessions are organized on request as well. Guests can accompany Rajeev to the nearby garden for a lovely quiet morning walk.
